After wearing
Air the outfit on a padded hanger for a few hours before putting it away. Check for loose beads and keep any that fall off — we can often reattach them.
Storing
Fold heavy lehengas rather than hanging them, so the weight of the embroidery does not stretch the fabric. Wrap in a cotton sheet or muslin, never plastic, and refold every few months along different lines.
Spills and stains
Blot, do not rub, and never use water or stain remover on zari or sequins — it can tarnish metallic thread and lift dye. Bring it in as soon as you can and tell us what the stain is.
When to dry clean
After every few wears, or straight after any spill. Always dry clean before long-term storage, as perfume and body oils yellow silk over time.
